Blogging to engage your customers

Business owners are often looking for ways to connect with their customers. Blogging can be a simple way to create content and reach out.

Why should I blog?

1. Helps you stand out from your competition.
Blogs tell stories about your company, giving personality and a voice to your products and services. It’s also a direct form of communication between you and your customers with a lot of story telling and informational content. In fact, 60% of businesses who blog get more customers compared to those who don’t, according to a HubSpot survey. Essentially, having a blog is like telling your readers that ‘this is what the cool kids are doing,’ and the experiences you give to your guests will instill a sense of desire for your audience to click the “Buy Now” button.

2. Helps to answer any questions and clarify concerns (and is a chance for you to boast).
Use your blog to sell yourself. You can think of your blog as an anecdotal FAQ page with commentary next to your photos and videos with interesting facts about your tours—whatever you want. It’s an easy way for your readers to virtually experience and imagine what your tours would be like, and also a way to share what makes your tours better than others (though subtlety is key). Blogging also allows you to connect and share timely and relevant information with your customers.

3. Gets people to find you on Google.
How often do you update the content of your website (your About Us, FAQ, Tour/Product Descriptions)?

Not often.

Keeping your website active with relevant information will fuel your SEO, boosting your website ranking on search engines like Google (and we all want that). Plus, the more pages you have attached to your website, the more opportunities your products and services will have to show up on Google, which means more visitors to your website.

In summary, blogging can be simple for some people, and a challenge for others.  Our best advice?  Talk about you, your products, your services, and keep it conversational. Include images to help tell your story. Set a realistic goal of how many posts you’ll create per month. Opinions vary, but we believe less is more. Keep your post short and sweet 400 to 600 words. And most importantly, don’t forget to share it on your social media feeds!
